Navigating Dual Pathways in Healing: A Personal Journey
Written on
Chapter 1: The Disconnect in Healing
My healing journey is marked by a noticeable disconnect that I clearly perceive, yet it seems the doctors are unable to pinpoint the source of my growth. One physician indicates that there's a sizable mass in my lungs, but I do not suffer from coughing or shortness of breath. I regularly visit the sauna and steam room, using oregano oil, and I take deep, calming breaths. My breathing remains unaffected, leaving me puzzled.
Dr. Saleema also expresses her confusion. Despite undergoing blood tests and urine analyses every three months for a year, no signs of cancer have emerged in any of the results. I feel perfectly healthy in every aspect except for a persistent, intense pain in my left leg. Fortunately, we have identified a pain management regimen that alleviates my discomfort. However, I still experience irritating itches on my abdomen and upper back that disturb my sleep.
Although an itch is preferable to pain, it can still be bothersome. I utilize a back scratcher from the dollar store and ice packs to soothe the itchy spots, which provides some relief.
Section 1.1: Current Medical Perspectives
For the most part, the medical professionals struggle to find a direct link between my pain, itching, and the various diagnoses I have received. I had an extensive discussion with my oncologist, during which I inquired about the next steps in my treatment.
Her response was straightforward: “We treat you!” This clarity has shaped my approach moving forward. I remain open to advice and assistance from anyone willing to contribute. While I may not implement every suggestion, I am receptive. Friends have made numerous recommendations, ranging from practical to more intuitively inspired.
Recently, I conversed with an insightful astrologer who believes in the influence of planetary movements on our personalities and thought processes. As a Gemini, I have always excelled at multitasking, a skill I will certainly need throughout this healing journey.
Subsection 1.1.1: Integrating Approaches
On one side of my healing path, I will embrace conventional medicine. I have no intention of clashing with my doctors or lecturing them about holistic detoxification. I plan to follow their recommendations, whether that involves immunotherapy, radiation, chemotherapy, or surgery. My desire to survive drives me, and their research-backed methodologies have proven effective for many cancer survivors I know, who often blend Eastern and Western practices.
Conversely, I will also explore holistic or integrative medicine. This involves focusing on natural treatments alongside emotional, mental, spiritual, and energetic (Qi) therapies. My holistic approach may encompass dietary changes, coffee enemas, specialized herbal remedies, hypnosis, Qi Gong, and therapies involving color and music.
Chapter 2: The Path Forward
These dual approaches will coexist in my life, often simultaneously. I might undergo surgery one day and then attend a comedy night at Gilda's Club two hours later, followed by a hypnosis session.
I am scheduled to begin my radiation treatment on August 25, 2024, targeting the cancer that is pressing on the nerve causing my leg pain. This marks a significant step in my healing journey.
