A Fresh Look at My Daily Routine for Productivity

Chapter 1: Reestablishing My Daily Rhythm
Finding the right balance in life often requires a shift in strategy. The world around us is constantly changing, and adapting to these changes can be both challenging and uncomfortable. However, embracing this evolution is essential, as highlighted by the principle of entropy. So, I'm adjusting my daily structure for the upcoming weeks.
Morning Routine: Starting the Day Right
7:00 AM — 7:30 AM: Breakfast
My breakfast will mostly consist of supplements, spirulina water, and a bowl of rice for now. I anticipate upgrading to oatmeal and possibly adding some fruit soon.
7:30 AM — 10:00 AM: Content Creation & Distribution
I’m dedicating the early part of my day to my most mentally demanding task: content creation. Three hours each morning will be allocated for crafting email campaigns, articles, podcasts, and videos. I have numerous projects that need completion, and this might be my final effort to establish myself as a content creator in this capacity. Additionally, the current economic downturn is palpable, and I recognize that people are likely to seek more content, from YouTube to Netflix, as they wait for improvement. I aim to make a mark in this content wave, which could lead to decent income through viewership, affiliate sales, sponsorships, or my own products.

10:00 AM — 11:45 AM: Opportunity Exploration
While there are countless opportunities to pursue, time is limited. Hence, I’ve focused my search on a few key areas:
- Local Jobs: Though I’m not particularly fond of traditional employment, I understand the importance of experience and income, especially during tax season.
- Classifieds: I’ll consider odd jobs that offer $50 or more.
- Pet Sitting: I’ve realized I’ve done more pet sitting than I initially thought, and I have references to back it up. I generally get along well with dogs, although there are a few breeds that don’t suit me.
- Upwork: I’ll be looking for remote contracts, especially in writing and virtual assistance.
- Pro Blogger Jobs: This platform connects businesses with writers, and new opportunities arise daily.
- Podcast Sponsorships: I’m keeping an eye on Podcorn for potential sponsors.
11:45 AM — 12:00 PM: Live Streaming
I’ve discovered that live streaming for just ten minutes daily isn’t too demanding. I’ve already hosted a couple of sessions reading excerpts from my latest book, and I plan to incorporate webinars or guest speakers in the future.
12:00 PM — 12:45 PM: Lunch
My lunch will consist of rice and beans, or perhaps some potatoes.
12:45 PM — 2:30 PM: Client Work
Currently, I have a few clients whose projects require my attention, and I’ve set aside time each day to serve them.
2:30 PM — 3:00 PM: Networking
For the past several months, I’ve been part of a daily call aimed at helping individuals grow their businesses through content. This group will soon open to the public, providing an excellent opportunity for learning, accountability, and networking.
3:00 PM — 3:30 PM: Physical Activity
I aim to include both weightlifting and aerobic exercises in my routine. With my new schedule, I might start with light aerobic workouts.
3:30 PM — 4:30 PM: Promotion
As the day winds down, I'll focus on administrative tasks, including:
- Executing various book promotion activities.
- Pitching my services to potential clients.
- Promoting my products on platforms like Fiverr.
- Exploring additional channels for promotion, including forums and classified sites.
- Following up on commitments I’ve made.
4:30 PM — 5:00 PM: Profile Refresh
I’ll be updating several profiles that need attention:
- My resume (likely creating multiple versions)
- Social media profiles
- YouTube channel banner
- Amazon author profile
- ValuedVoice profile
- My website (adding work experience to the about page)
5:00 PM — 5:30 PM: Meditation
Taking a moment for relaxation is crucial, even if just for a short time. I may not fully subscribe to the idea that “high vibes attract what you want,” but I engage in activities that help me maintain a positive mindset.
5:30 PM — 6:00 PM: Dinner
It's vital to nourish oneself, especially when facing challenges.
6:00 PM — 6:30 PM: Inventory Management
I’ll be managing numerous listings on Facebook Marketplace, ensuring they are current. This has proven to be a significant income source, and I’ll continue until it becomes unfeasible.
6:30 PM — 7:30 PM: Errands
I may need to grocery shop, visit the bank, or explore local meetups. This time block reflects the three potential scenarios I foresee unfolding in the near future.
Scenarios for the Future
- I successfully follow my plan and secure good-paying work in Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley.
- I find local opportunities that encourage me to remain on the Island.
- If things don’t pan out, I may return to Calgary temporarily, which many friends and family would welcome.
- Living out of a tent isn’t something I’m planning for, as I don’t see it as a likely outcome.
7:30 PM — 8:30 PM: Phone Calls
Maintaining and building relationships through phone calls is essential, even if it's not my favorite task. Networking can uncover opportunities I might not be aware of.
8:30 PM — 10:30 PM: App Testing
This segment involves exploring various survey sites and apps. Although the earnings are modest, they add up, and I may discover a more lucrative option in the future.
10:30 PM — 11:00 PM: Bedtime Preparation
I’m adjusting my habits to wind down by 10:30 PM instead of engaging in mindless activities until exhaustion.
Final Thoughts
I’m interviewing for a five-month contract soon, which may alter this routine. Regardless, I believe I have set myself up for success with enough options without being too scattered.
