Elon Musk's Unvarnished Approach to Corporate Responsibility

Chapter 1: The Ripple Effects of Musk's Twitter Management
Recently, I shared my thoughts on a Medium article titled "X Marks The Spot Where Musk Buried Twitter’s Brand" by M.H. Williams. In my comment, I remarked:
"Observing the unfolding disaster in real time, coupled with what seems to be Mr. Musk’s unvarnished humility, reminds me of a classic Canadian joke: ‘How do you start a small business? Buy a big one and wait.’ It seems Mr. Musk has embraced this Canadian Small Business Playbook!"
This statement sparked some reactions, prompting me to reflect. While my comment was humorous, it also carried weight, especially for Canadians familiar with our country's reluctance to promote internal talent and the burdensome government regulations that have led to the downfall of many companies that could have thrived by evolving from small to large enterprises.
Was the humor derived from Canada’s reputation as perceived by other nations? Or was it a commentary on Mr. Musk’s management of Twitter, which parallels my analogy? Perhaps it was a combination of both!
M.H. Williams's article critiques the Twitter brand, emphasizing its established presence and suggesting that Mr. Musk could have pursued his vision for Twitter in a more stable manner. Based on the various reactions, it appears many share this sentiment.
While amusing, my comment also held a more somber undertone, serving as an indirect critique of the fallout from Mr. Musk’s decisions.
Corporate acquisitions and mergers typically have repercussions that do not favor employees. In Twitter's case, reports indicate that the workforce plummeted from over 7,000 to under 2,000. This translates to more than 5,000 individuals—whose lives have been significantly impacted by Mr. Musk’s choices.
It is striking how transparent Mr. Musk's decision-making process has become. He seems to take pride, even delight, in showcasing his corporate strategies—not only with Twitter but across his ventures.
The reality is that companies will inevitably change hands, face bankruptcy, and lead to consequences for countless individuals. I ponder this—do you? Does Mr. Musk?
Mr. Musk’s unvarnished approach has raised the "ethics bar" to unprecedented heights, setting a standard that others may emulate.
