Would You Choose Immortality? Exploring the Possibility of Living to 150
Written on
Chapter 1: The Quest for Immortality
In recent decades, there has been a surge in interest surrounding the concept of immortality, especially the potential to extend human life to 150 years. This pursuit has led to significant investments in biotechnology and research aimed at combating the aging process. Is it feasible to achieve such longevity? The answer is not entirely clear.
As I delve into the scientific underpinnings of this intriguing subject for an upcoming Medium article, I'm seeking your perspectives. Would you wish to live indefinitely, as long as you maintained good health? Or would living to 150 be an appealing option for you?
I invite you to share your thoughts and reasoning in the comments. Alternatively, you can participate in my quick poll on Mastodon or through my Age Wise newsletter on Substack.

Chapter 2: Insights from Experts
This inquiry stems from a lively discussion sparked by a brief post I shared on Mastodon. Notably, Harvard researcher David Sinclair asserts that the first person destined to reach 150 years old has already been born, thanks to advancements that may halt or even reverse aging. Personally, I view this as exaggerated optimism.
In parallel, Elon Musk's ambition to establish a colony on Mars strikes me as similarly far-fetched—unless, of course, he lives to see 150 himself.
If I am fortunate enough to witness either of these developments, I’ll document my thoughts on paper, assuming that medium still exists.
This perspective arises from my extensive engagement with longevity research over the past 30 years. While opinions are subjective, I am dedicated to uncovering the scientific facts and expert opinions for my forthcoming article. Meanwhile, I'm eager to learn your thoughts on the tantalizing idea of immortality.
