# My Fiverr Side Hustle Journey: Insights from Four Months In

Chapter 1: A Fresh Start on Fiverr
About four months ago, I decided to revisit Fiverr, hoping to capitalize on its potential.
Initially, I joined the platform back in 2012, during a time when everything was priced at just $5. Fast forward to now, and Fiverr has evolved remarkably. Some freelancers, like Alex Fasulo, are generating substantial incomes—around $400,000 a year—solely through this platform. Here’s my progress update after four months of working on Fiverr.
Fiverr Progress Report — Month 4
Reflecting on my early days on Fiverr, it felt exhilarating and somewhat chaotic compared to my current experience. I received about a dozen inquiries weekly from potential clients, leading to a monthly income of $300 to $400 from booked gigs.
However, following the holiday season in December, business took a downturn. My weekly inquiries dwindled, and I experienced a significant drop in bookings. In January, I managed to secure just one gig for $60, marking a steep decline for 2022.
What led to this sudden drop? This was my first experience navigating Fiverr during the holiday season, and I’m uncertain if that period was a significant sales driver. Additionally, I received a less-than-stellar review recently, which was surprising given my history of perfect ratings from nearly all my clients. Currently, I hold a 4.7 out of 5-star rating, which is still respectable, but that one negative review has impacted my overall progress more than I expected.
In February, I booked no gigs, and the same happened in March. Interestingly, I’ve found some success on Upwork’s Project Catalog, which operates similarly to Fiverr.
The first video, "How I Made $23,000 On Fiverr As A Side Hustle," offers insights into optimizing your Fiverr journey.
Section 1.1: Exploring Upwork's Project Catalog
Upwork's Project Catalog allows users to create fixed-price "projects" akin to Fiverr gigs. These projects can include various services, such as social media shoutouts, blog writing, and TikTok video editing.
So far, I’ve listed only two projects, yet I’ve already secured three gigs—one for $20, another yielding nearly $400 before fees, and a third referral gig for $100.
The second video, "3 Fiverr Side Hustles To Make Money FAST ($100 Per Day No Skills Required)," provides strategies for generating income without specialized skills.
Chapter 2: Reflecting on My Fiverr Experience
So, that wraps up my progress report for month four on Fiverr.
