Chapter 1: The Power of Reading

Without a doubt, reading enhances your knowledge, concentration, and perspective. Initially, I managed to finish about 10–12 books annually, which I thought was the standard for a typical reader. I considered myself an avid reader until 2005 when I adopted the practice of reading two books simultaneously, allowing myself to abandon any that failed to engage me. This shift significantly increased my reading volume.
Reflecting on my journey, I often wonder why I didn’t embrace this habit earlier.
Based on my experiences, here are five effective reading strategies:
Section 1.2: Embrace Digital Reading

Using a Kindle has transformed my reading experience. With the ability to carry multiple books, create lists, highlight passages, take notes, and even listen to audiobooks, it’s incredibly convenient. I take my Kindle Signature Edition to my cabin to enjoy a week offline.
Previously, I juggled physical books and an iPad Mini, but traveling before and during the pandemic made it difficult to manage physical books, which can also be costly. I highly recommend the Kindle based on my six-month experience; it adds significant value to your reading life. If you’re not satisfied, you can return it within 15 days.
Key features of the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition include:
- Waterproof design (ideal for my hiking adventures)
- Audiobook capabilities via AirPods or Bluetooth headphones
- Impressive battery life—over 8 weeks on a single charge
- Wireless charging
- Adaptive lighting that mimics a physical book
Your eyes will thank you for making the switch!
Chapter 2: Diversify Your Reading Topics
The first video, How I Read 100 Books a Year - 5 Tips for Reading More, offers insightful strategies to enhance your reading routine and achieve your literary goals.
The second video, 10 Tips for Reading More Books in 2024, presents practical advice for anyone looking to expand their reading habits in the coming year.
Section 2.1: Explore Multiple Subjects
Reading across different topics can sustain your interest in books. I usually juggle 2–3 subjects at any given time. Currently, I’m focused on investing, personal finance, and cryptocurrency, which has led me to acquire over 10 books on these topics.
This habit was inspired by Indra Nooyi’s My Life in Full, a motivational and accessible read. I enjoy literature on personal development, entrepreneurship, and new technologies, and I often have several books in progress, as depicted in the previous image.
Section 2.2: Keep Books Visible
To encourage frequent reading, keep books within sight. Display physical copies on your desk, in your bedroom, or around your living area. I’m fortunate to have a cozy study where I prominently showcase my collection of books, especially my Kindle.

- Improved mental health
- Enhanced focus
